According to most surveys, the trend in project management for the last few years has been towards Agile, especially the Scrum variant. Increasingly, organizations are finding that executing projects in shorter bursts - called sprints - is allowing them to not only show business value faster but also to reshape the way they do business.

However, while many organizations have heard about Agile and are being encouraged to use it at least for some projects, they often are not really sure what it is exactly. Or if they do know what it is, don’t know where to start.

In this presentation we will explain Agile with an emphasis on the most popular variant, Scrum. We’ll provide a brief history and then describe the structure and various roles that are defined. We’ll also look at what happens during a sprint and how the product and sprint backlogs factor into the equation.
